We are Still Here

According to the Mayans the world was supposed to come to an end yesterday. So much for that, tho we are all still here, no cosmic explosion or natural disaster destroyed the world. Yes the world is still here, but it has really changed. From my childhood to now the world is a totally different place. From the weather, to the world views on life and how it should be lived has changed. The world has changed, and in a way the world has come to an end. The world we knew is quickly changing, and all we can do is try to keep up. Try to understand these changes, the new generation who are born in it can't understand. So its on us to teach them, its up to us not to let history repeat its self. Welcome to the new world!

2012 wrap up!

Its been a long but very productive year for me. I set a lot of goals at the beginning of this year. I am proud to say that almost all of them have been met and with great results. Through the graces of God, hard work, and plenty if sacrifice, anything is possible. Looking forward to 2013, even more planned, so that means even more work. Like the saying goes, no guts no glory, no grind, no shine. In 2013, Ill see y'all at the top. God Bless.

Lost Love!

Its been a while since I blogged, a lot has happened in recent months. As the days go by my love for photography and film continue to grow, its my passion that has diminished. Sadly due to bad choices, dealing with the wrong people, this industry has left a bad taste in my mouth. But through all of the frustration I have continued to work and do what I love to do. Photographers, film makers and artists of all kinds go through these types of slumps. Im ready to move forward and continue my work and dedicate my self to placing my company in a position to only deal with people of my choosing. That is all, for now. Hopefully it wont be months before I blog again.

Summer is coming!

Let's talk about weight loss since summer is coming n everyone wants to lose weight and look good in the summer. It wont be easy, but it will all be worth it, being healthy and looking and feeling great are just a few of the many benefits. When i first moved to Atlanta i gained 30 pounds from eating horribly. School I'm the morning work at night, no time to workout or cook, so my eating habits consisted of choosing between KFC N CHURCHES CHICKEN! Lets just say it wasn't hard to add on the pounds. Losing weight was hard for me at first, because I was in denial about actually being over weight. It wasn't until one day after a pool party I saw a picture of myself and realized I needed to lose weight. I started out by cutting down my calorie intake per day, and I lost about 15 pounds in about a month n a half. Than started working out on a regular bases, about 5 times a week. Once I started hitting the gym, the weight just melted off, I'm naturally athletic, I played almost every sport you can think of when I was in high school so it was like being in highschool again. I believe that was the key for me, I tried to make it as fun as possible. But it all starts with the mental aspect, most people fail at losing weight because they are not mentally ready. The body can do amazing things when you put your mind to it. Stop saying it's hard, I can't do it, my body can't take it. I stress to all my friends who frequently ask me for weight loss tips that you have to really want it, and sometimes smack the laziness out of you. It is easy to say, oh I can do it tomorrow, oh this one cheeseburger won't hurt. Next thing you know it's 2 months later, tomorrow came and went, you haven't seen the inside of a gym, and yes that burger did hurt. My 3 tips on losing weight, healthy diet, great exserize regiment, and most importantly mental toughness. You can join a gym, but it takes drive and dedication to actually get up and go, it takes discipline to say now to that burger and fries and pick up a salad. The best part about it is we all can do it, not just athletes and models, we all can get fit and stay fit!!!!

Staying Humble

This past weekend I learned a lot. My crew and I were shooting a music video and everything went great except when dealing with outside people. By outside people I mean anyone that wasn't part of the film crew n artist team. Some people all of a sudden decided they were too big to conduct business with respect and integrity! When it comes to business you always treat people with respect. Never act as if you don't need or care for their business. Than there are those who are just greedy, numbers change once film crew gets to the location and start setting up. How quickly people forget that it was me who referred you to others on the strength of always wanting to help people out. So the same people who is about to put money in your pocket is the same person I referred you to. but you now acting brand new. In this film n music industry you dealing with snakes wolves and rats! Very few people in this business have your interests at heart so conduct your self with that knowledge. I treat every client and contact I come across with respect. I expect the same in return. I stay humble because I know where I came from and no matter how much success I see I will always be me. Never look down on no one, and I won't allow anyone to look down on me. I will always remain humble!!!

Thank You for making me smile!

Good morning everyone, it's been a minute, I know, I apologize. God has been blessing me with so many opportunities that I've been really busy. Which is what this post will be about, God's blessings. I believe that one of the greatest blessings God has given me, is the vision to see my blessings, and to be able to find positivity out of every situation. There are some people in this world that go through so much, and suffer so much that they tend to let that suffering distract them from all the good they have in their lives. Some people are chosen to do great things, these people are truly blessed and are given all they need in this world to make themselves into what God has planned for them. Now i don't mean money, I'm not talking about anything material, its in them, its a talent, a God given gift, its the strength that God gave them, and the power of influence and inspiration. Unfortunately these people often suffer the most, they are usually the ones who have lived through hell. Now I will not sit here and pretend to be the most religious person in the world, nor will I pretend to know how God works, I just know he is Great and everything that he does is with intent to make you and I better. I recently met a young woman, and while I'm talking to her, and hearing her story, I felt like I was watching a movie. As she went on to tell me her all the things she has been through in her life, all I could think was, wow, I am truly blessed. I know what your thinking, but let me explain. Every word she spoke instead of making me sad, just gave me strength. It was the most amazing experience I have ever had. Her story is a very sad one, but I couldn't help but have a huge smile on my face, because all I heard was God got me through it.She has been through more than anyone should, now if you cant picture what hell is like, well just listen to her story, you will get a clear picture. But that is not what is special about her, its not her pain, its not her struggle that makes her special, I mean we all have pain, we all have struggled, maybe some more than others, but its part of life. What made me gravitate towards her is the fact that she is still standing, and she is still in the fight. This young woman, has been raped, molested, used, abused by family, battered, bruised nearly destroyed and left for dead. Yet she did not let any of those things break her, she not only survived hell, but she has gone back to help others come up out of it. She also is fighting to keep other kids from going through what she went through. She has started foundations, and is a mentor to kids in her local area. Because she never gave up, she is doing better now than all those people who contributed to her pain and suffering. That's the power of God, that's the strength and drive that God puts in all of us. This woman has accomplished so much in life and has so much more ahead of her, she is truly amazing. Its people like her that inspires others to keep fighting, because of her great display of strength, she is able to give strength to others just like her. In my opinion no accomplishment is greater than helping someone find hope, helping them find inspiration to keep moving forward. This is what I believe God truly has intended for all of us. When I meet people like this young lady I get rejuvenated and realize that I'm on the right path to giving back what God put in me. The strength and the power to inspire others to smile knowing that no matter what the world throws at you, God has given you the power to take it all and keep fighting. So to Ms "Yazzii" , I say thank you, thank you for making me smile, and most importantly, thank you for never giving up. You are my inspiration!

Hope y'all have a blessed and productive day.

Hello all, Its me again, as if it would be anyone else. Topic of discussion today is SOPA and PIPA, if you tried to access google or firefox you may have noticed a black box over their logo. Why you may ask, well this is to protest against the Stop Online Piracy Act or SOPA and the Protect IP Act or  PIPA.  The suggested purpose of these bills is to make it harder for sites to sell and or distribute copyrighted material. Now as a film maker who is currently working on his first major motion picture, I  should be excited about this. Unfortunately thats not the case, these bills will not only keep sites from basically bootlegging my movies, but it also gives the government the power to do a whole lot more. Let me explain, once they have the power to basically shut down these "bad sites" they also have the power to censor the sites that are doing the right thing. Google for example, would have to delete any links to these sites, as you know, that is what google basically does.

I know that death of bootleggers would be a great thing, I would be the first to sign a petition for that. I totally support keeping money in the pockets of the artists like myself, who work hard to make great pieces of entertainment. What I don't believe in is censorship. I use google for everything, I learn something new everyday because I can google it. Now if google has to worry about what it can and can not post links to due to this law, it becomes a form of censorship of information. When the government has that kind of power, you and I know all to well that without certain amendments, they can and will abuse that power. So until the SOPA bill can be something that can protect artists without enforcing censorship of information, I will continue to stand against SOPA, even if it means I will only be a millionaire and not a billionaire.

Please feel free to leave a comment, or an leave an angry rant about how crazy i am for not wanting to be a billionaire! lol

you can also check out this link to an article written by a much smarter person than me! He says basically the same thing, so haha!

A Dream

Today as we celebrate the legacy of the great MLK I feel inspired and extremely motivated. I hope all of you feel the same way. Just like MLK we all have a dream, we all have something we want to see happen more than anything. I hope you all have the strength to chase that dream. Make that dream a part of your being, put your blood sweat and tears in to make that dream come true. If you want it, if you desire it, you can not be afraid of what people think, or will say. It doesn't matter who doesn't believe in your dream, as long as you do! You can not allow anyone or thing to stop you. At the end of the day, if you have given it your best, and have done all that you can, than you have already accomplished more than most. That in its self is a great accomplishment. I truly believe that one should never measure their success by the accomplishments of others. But by the joy and satisfaction your results bring to you and the ones who truly care for you. So keep dreaming, keep fighting and most of all keep smiling, the greatest reward is always happiness. Thank you Dr King, thank you for all of your sacrifices and determination to see the world we live in become a better place. It is because of you that people like me can chase our dreams! Happy birthday Dr Martin Luther King!
